THE CITY OF LINZ WILL PRESENT ON 16 SEPTEMBER THE CreArt EUROPEAN EXHIBITION “THE CITY AND ME” WITH WORKS FROM 20 ARTISTS OF THE CreArt NETWORK
The CreArt European Exhibition 2015 “The City and me” with 20 projects selected by the curator Lucas Cuturi, will be opened next 16 September, in the Austrian City of Linz, after being exhibited in Pardubice (Czech Republic) during this summer. The Exhibition will be open until 30 October in the following spaces: Atelierhaus Salzamt, Kunst-Uni, Kunstraum Nomadenetappe / Memphis, bb15, Ursulinenhof.
The artworks of the 20 participants shown in the exhibition entitled "The city and me" will reflect aspects of the life in the different cities and what is going on there. Hereby some of the artists will discuss their own hometowns whereas others will deal with cities to which they have a special relationship. Some of the artworks will cover the immediate vicinity and the everyday life of the artists, while others will discuss social issues by going directly to the inhabitants asking them questions about their identity and their individual fate. On the other hand some artists will deal with the economic problems of their cities caused by the global economic crisis. And some other will highlight historical context. Furthermore environmental issues as well as the animal population of a city will be the topic of debate. The artistic medias that will be used for this purpose will range from video, photography, painting, drawing, sculpture to installation.
