activities in unconventional exhibition venues such as bars and shops. CreArt
and the local initiatives that emerged from it have turned into a well-known
brand in the city and this new artistic effervescence has stimulated the opening
of new creative spaces and galleries in the city.
Artists have been organising themselves through the network, becoming
active protagonists of the events held as part of CreArt, contributing to the
creative atmosphere in the city.
Results of the project at network level:
153 artists from the CreArt cities (selected among 937 applications) have
directly benefited from the exchange activities organised so far.
226 artists fromValladolid applied for CreArt European exhibitions, workshops
and residencies over the last three years. 26 were selected (some of them
several times) to participate in CreArt activities in other cities.
By the end of the project, CreArt will have developed the following:
11 European conferences, seminars and encounters
20 artists in residence programmes (90 artists in total)
5 European exhibitions (4 of which shown in 3 different cities) and their
catalogues.
3 European workshops led by renowned artists
5 editions of the European Day of Artistic Creativity.
1 network of CreArt Ambassadors that will spread the word of the project
and contribute to it.
Success/ failure factors:
The main success factors are the political support and
the sound knowledge in dealing with large scale exhibitions which increase trust in
the project.
Difficulties are related to the functioning of a 13 city network with different
approaches and working methods.
