Results of the project at the city level:
Impact on local management: the experience gained by the Fundación
Municipal de Cultura (FMC) through leading the project has helped integrate
networking in the local administration’s working methods. CreArt activities
have been fully embedded into the cultural programme of the city. For
example the annual call for artists carried out by the FMC has been merged
into the call for CreArt European exhibition. Thanks to the use of ICT (online
calls, dissemination of activities through newsletter and social media), the FMC’s
activities gained a better outreach and new links were created with the local
artistic community.
Impact on local cultural offer: in three years, the project has significantly
enriched Valladolid’s cultural offer. The European Day of Artistic Creativity
fosters about twenty activities in the city, where a hundred artists, museums,
galleries, shops and bars, journalism students and schools collaborate every
year.
The FMC has adapted part of its activity to the programme, enhancing the
local artists’ presence in its exhibition venues.
Impact on the artistic community: CreArt has opened new opportunities for
the promotion and training of local artists such as European touring
exhibitions, workshops with internationally renowned artists and a programme
of artistic residencies in other European cities.
Bottom-up initiatives have risen to promote well-established or emerging
artists from Valladolid and to facilitate access to cultural activities for new
audiences. The annual exhibition “Creadores” gathers around a common
theme some twenty local creators; “CreaVA” was conceived as a
complementary exhibition of emerging artists and as a platform for cultural
