Ricardo González

Born in Neila (Burgos, Spain) in 1957, Ricardo González graduated with a degree in Art History from the University of Valladolid, the city where he also lives and works.

He combines his research on History of photography with his activity as a self-taught photographer, having exhibited his own works since 1980.

Work in collections: Forum (Tarragona), Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Centro de Fotografía de la Universidad de Salamanca, Museo dela Universidad de Navarra.

His oeuvre underlines how photography is capable of speaking about social relations, by showing conflicted and even traumatic situations (mostly between an individual and the community) and using images as a way to inform and comment on society.
