Culture in Motion conference on 15 - 17 October 2012 in Brussels

2012-08-13

The European Commission is organising three large scale events in October of interest to cultural organisations across Europe.

The kick-off meeting for Culture programme cooperation projects

Every year, the Culture programme co-finances more than 300 projects with a budget of about 50 million EUR. These projects are selected through calls for proposals published by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency. The coordinators of the projects selected are invited to attend a kick-off meeting in Brussels with the Agency at the beginning of their grant, in order to become familiar with the project management requirements of the European Commission, as well as to meet and exchange information with other project coordinators.

European Capitals of Culture

The European Capitals of Culture is one of the most successful and well known European initiatives. The Commission is organising a European exchange of practice to assist cities interested in bidding for the title in the future. The Commission's new proposal for the scheme as of 2020 will also be presented on this occasion, with a Q & A opportunity.

European Audiences: 2020 and beyond

Every year, the European Commission organises an exchange of practice conference, where projects supported through the Culture programme are invited to share their experience and results with peers. In 2012, since the preparations for Creative Europe - the future EU funding programme for supporting the cultural and creative sectors for the period 2014-2020 - are at full speed, we have decided to focus the conference on the topic of audience development, which will be one of the priorities of the new programme. In addition, on the afternoon of 17 October, the Commission will organise an information session on Creative Europe, with a Q & A opportunity.

The website of the conference is now available for registration at:http://www.cultureinmotion.eu/

Registration is open until 28 September 2012.
